![]() I tried Clementine for a while before, thinking I'd love it since I used to like the old Amarok it was forked from, but its smart playlist stuff just isn't comparable still. Good smart playlist stuff is my make-or-break feature, and what keeps me using Cantata and the (until recently) abandoned Amarok 2. Not a deal breaker for me since I don't move media around that much, and when I do it's usually with a file manager or terminal, rather than my music player. Not as convenient I guess, but keeps with the idea of using the appropriate tools instead of cramming extra stuff into the player. Though Cantata does have an "open in file manager" option if you right-click a file in the Folders view. That sort of thing is probably considered out of scope for Cantata and mpd, since they're focused on playing music. Clementine is nice in that you can copy/move/delete media. The only thing it seems to lack is proper file management. This post is written for beginners about an open source media player clementine.Clementine is developed on the top of Amarok media player.Clementine is an open source media player and it’s available for Linux based OS e.g Ubuntu 10.10(Maverick Meerkat),10.04(Lucid Lynx).,Windows and Mac OS X. It's not the latest-and-greatest, but I don't really care, as long as it works. On my desktop (debian) I just use the one out of the repos. ![]() Cantana is a pain in that you have to compile it on your own as well as figure out all the qt5 dependencies to install, argg!
